"Now this is eternal life:
that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. "

John 17:3 NIV

In today's society, it is so easy to get distracted and entangled that we don't make the time to pray. What many fail to understand is that prayer is not so much a Christian duty as it is a Christian priviledge. Our whole purpose in salvation is to be restored to God. The word "know" in the above scripture refers to a close, intimate knowledge, not just an intelligent understanding of.
God longs to spend time with us. He is constantly calling us, reaching out to us, blessing us, protecting us. When we fail to respond, He is grieved. Just as a man or woman in love long to spend time with their mate, so also God longs for our company and our love. (We must remember that God has feelings too.)
Reading the bible goes hand in hand with prayer because the bible shows us who God is, how to hear His voice, and how much He loves us.
Please don't neglect Him who loves you the most.
Spend time with your Father and Friend starting today!!
